Instructions to Successfully Complete This NCPD Program
To receive a Certificate of Completion and be awarded NCPD contact hours for this program, follow the steps
below, and complete and view the full content of the program including the program evaluation. If an assessment is included in the content, you will need to have 75% of the answer correct in order to pass the assessment. You will also have unlimited retakes on the assessment.
NASN will conduct an outcome assessment of a sample of participants at a later date. Please be advised that, if you complete this program, you may be asked to participate in this outcome assessment.
Step 1: Enroll in the Education Service Center Region 14 program.
Step 2: Complete and view the full content of the program.
Step 3: Complete the assessment and evaluation by September 8, 2023.
Step 4: Retrieve the certificate. After completing all content items, you will earn a certificate. You can save or print it. Certificates are also stored in your Learning Center Profile.
Program Overview
Focus on the Framework: Community/Public Health is an interactive program helps school nurses develop a deeper understanding of their role in population health and the impact of social determinants and disparities; and primary prevention for individuals, families, and populations.
Learning Outcomes
As a result of participating in this educational activity, learners will be able to:
- Describe how the Framework for 21 st Century School Nursing Practice TM reflects a mindset for contemporary school nursing practice.
- Describe 3 ways population-based care is different than individual care.
- Describe 3 ways school nurses can plan interventions to address population-based care.
- Identify two ways school nurses can address social determinants and health disparities in their practice.
- Identify 3 common environmental risks in schools that a school nurse can address.
- Identify 3 principles of cultural competency that school nurses can integrate into their practice.
Intended Audience
This nursing continuing professional development program is developed to meet the educational needs in the area of knowledge and skill for registered nurses who are interested in child, adolescent health, community/public health, and school nursing.
