NASN Affiliate Leadership Academy is an interactive educational session for NASN affiliate leaders. Each year, this event is a rich environment for education and information sharing in the areas of advocacy and use of data, association management, program development, and membership. The agenda focuses on developing networking strategies in advocacy; learning association management concepts; and further developing plans for recruitment, retention, and engagement of members. Returning this year are Affiliate Leadership Roundtables and Peer Ignite sessions to offer elected school nurse organization leaders opportunities for learning and exchanging information, ideas, and insights. Topics include association management, membership, awards, and advocacy. Chairs of NASN Special Interest Groups will also be on hand to share information and resources. Each Affiliate organization is eligible to enroll two delegates and each SIG Chair (or designee) is eligible to enroll in the Leadership Academy at no registration cost.

Through content, interactive discussion, and engagement the State Data Coordinators will develop in their role and be able to Identify targeted guidance for use in outreach to frontline nurses based on ‘next step’ needs and local participation, to utilize local and state data to support capacity building and advocacy in home states, and to understand the value of a state partner and ways to build that relationship. Data Coordinators will also offer input on the initiative and recognize ways to support progress for the National Data Set.
